U13s Colts
On Sunday 10th February the Esher Athletic U13s played against Hounslow's Whitton Wanderers. The Game started with Esher having most possession but then Whitton hit the lead with a careless goal.A few minutes later with Connell Hauughey equalising. Followed by two cracking goals to complete his hat-trick minutes later the whistle blew for half-time with some very big Esher faces. There were two substitutions Lee Graves and Jay Jerrard. They came on and won some possesion for Esher but then Whitton scoring another two quick consecutive goals, one placed and another a free kick. The final substitution which proved to be a great tactical change with Robbie Spencer scoring a blinding winning goal. New Reserve Team Manager Confirmed....
I'm very happy to announce the New Reserve Team manager for Esher Athletic this coming season is Ian Chard. I'm delighted that he has taken the challange and I'm sure that everyone in the club wishes him luck in his new role. Ian was Tim Scott's assistant last season and I'm sure that he will do a grand job in the hot seat himself!
I'd like to place on record the sterling job that Tim Scott performed last season and without him the club wouldn't be in the postion it is in now - so from everyone at the club - Thanks Tim Scott.

A Magical Debut by the Under 6 Wizards
West Byfleet Scorpions vs Esher Wizards 10/02/07
It was the first official debut for the Under 6 Wizards team away at West Byfleet.
After kicking off a bit later than expected, the Wizards immediately got stuck into the Scorpions. For the first couple of minutes the Wizards had all of the possession and were putting together some excellent passes that a team much older would have been proud of. Eventually after about 5 minutes the Wizards broke the deadlock with a fantastic goal. A few minutes after that another goal was scored. After two goals were scored the Wizards seemed to be unstoppable with their quick closing down and slick passing.
When the half time whistle went the Wizards were up 0-5. After some more great play the Wizards scored a few more goals. However at one point during the mid second half we fell asleep and conceded a goal. This did not affect us and the Wizards carried on playing to their ability and knocked in yet a few more goals.
Thank you to all for your great support on the day. I would also like to thank the Scorpions for hosting this match.
Final Result 1-9
Goals by- George Gallimore (3) James Thompson (1)
Jack Healy (1) Sebastian Collins (2) Lewis Callaghan (2)
Man of the match-Lewis Callaghan
Effort award - Jamie Woodland

Injury Update - News from the treatment table
I have never known anything like it, with 10 players unavailable this weekend, 7 due to injuries - it really is very lucky that we have a big squad and can use the depth of the the reserve and under 17 teams. Darren Senter is slowing recovering from his foot injury and is able to run but is still unable to kick a ball and is a month away from a return. Adam Cooper is out for the season after breaking his leg and we all wish him a speedy recovery. Mark Craven has damaged this knee last weekend against Battersea and is out for 2-6 weeks. Russ Lee has damaged his heel playing with a shopping trolley and will hope he will be back soon. Dan Armstrong has a problem with his knee and will be out for a couple of weeks. Richard Wallace has a groin strain and will also be out for 2-4 weeks. Everyone at the club wishes all the players a speedy and full recovery.

Esher Draw 1-1 with the league leaders at Strenue...
Esher drew 1-1 against high flying SCR on Saturday at a sun soaked Strenue Sports. Esher have their worst injury crisis ever with 10 players unavailable but the boys were unaffected and put in an excellent battling performance. SCR took the lead half way through the first half with a wonder strike from 25 yards that gave Pellett no chance. It was a battle out there and we were matching them and had some good chances to draw level as Ian Chard danced around the SCR defence before seeing his shot trickle wide, the longer the game went on the more the belief came into our game and we continued to create chances. After the break we continued to press them, playing some good football and with Ross Harle and Billy Kendrick causing all sorts of problems up front, the SCR defence just couldn't handle them. Half way through the second half we drew level, a delightful through ball from skipper George Corner sent Rossco through one on one with the keeper, he cooly took his time before nut-megging the keeper and giving us the goal that our attacking play had deserved. A fine late save from Andy Pellett keep us in it but excellent performances from Bryn Caine and Russ Lee - Incey kept SCR at bay and we could even have snatched it late on as Arron Brown had a good chance to win it. Overall, a very good performance from the lads against a team that are flying this season.
Team: A.Pellett(8),S.Cooper(7),T.Hart(8),R.Lee(9 - MOM),B.Caine(8),G.Corner(c)(8),I.Chard(7),A.Brown(7),G.Roach(7),B.Kendrick(8),Ross Harle(8)(1). Subs: H.Roach(7),D.Wright(7)

Esher draw 2-2 with last seasons Champions
On Saturday, Esher Athletic fought out a creditable 2-2 draw with last year champions - Battersea Ironside. With an early goal for Ironside putting them into the lead before Billy Kendrick opened his account for Esher with a fine finish, driven through a crowd of players from 22 yards. We took the lead for the first time of the match after a great ball from Ross Harle sent Adam Cooper flying down the left. Using his pace, he got to the byeline before whipping in what i can only call a "sexy cross" that still left Dan Cooper with alot of work to do, DC - made it look easy with a excellent volley to put us in the lead for the first time in the match. Andy Pellett made a fantansic penatly save to give us a point, it what was a good battling performance from the mighty Blue and yellows. The downer was a bad knee injury to Mark Craven with about 10minutes to go and we all hope him a speedy recovery.
Team: A.Pellett, S.Cooper, A.Brown, B.Caine, M.Craven, G.Corner(c), R.Harle, B.Kendrick, D.Cooper, A.Cooper. Subs: D. Wright
